
Andrew Hankinson is a PhD candidate in the Department of Music Research at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University, studying with Dr. Ichiro Fujinaga. Andrew holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies (McGill) and a Bachelor's degree in Music Theory & History (Acadia). When not in school, he has held jobs with the Parliament of Canada, McGill's Marvin Duchow Music Library and Acadia University.

- Created a series of three short "Promos" for library services, along with Nelly Savova-Petrova and Erin Phillips as part of my MLIS.
- Edited a series of short interviews as part of my Film & Video Production course (April 2009). (Due to privacy concerns, I'm only posting the intro & credits sections.)
- These were filmed in HD, and edited using Final Cut Pro, with effects & compositing done in Motion.
- I have lived and worked in a L'Arche Community (and think that it's one of the best initiatives going.)
- I have toured with & recorded East Coast Music Award-nominated artists Jamie Mackay & The Great Beyond.

Tools I Use
- I'm a die-hard Mac user on the desktop, and prefer FreeBSD on the server.
- I'm a huge fan of Textmate
- I don't use Word; I use Mellel. (But I can open the stuff you send me in Word, don't worry.)
- I don't use Endnote; I use BookEnds.
- Final Cut Pro Studio has taken up many hours of my life.
- I speak HTML & CSS fluently.
- I can do Python, Ruby, Javascript, PHP & SQL.
- Drupal is my favourite Content Management System.
- My favourite serif font is Huronia, and my favourite sans-serifs are Univers, Frutiger and Futura
- I have a strange attraction to SCORE for music typesetting, but Lilypond will do in a pinch.
